You must:

  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • Be a resident of New Mexico
  • Be at least 18 years of age at the time of the next election
  • Not have been denied the right to vote by a court of law by reason of mental incapacity or felony conviction

Registration Deadline: 28 days before the election

Date of Primary: Tuesday, June 3, 2008

Early Voting:

  • You may also vote early in-person, instead of voting by mail. You may go to your county clerk's office beginning the 28th day before the election and vote. (Section 1-6-5, NMSA 1978).
  • Early voting begins on the third Saturday before the election at alternate sites. Call your county clerk for locations.
  • Alternate sites for early voting are open from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The sites are open from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays. They are closed on Sunday and Monday.
  • Early voting ends the Saturday before the election.
